Jennings have a long, successful history in the construction of Coastal Defence Schemes. The delivery of successful projects forms another important contribution to the total service that we can offer clients. With proven experience of undertaking flood defence and coastal defence schemes in the U.K., Jennings has expertise in this field which is second to none. We are experienced in all types of Coastal Defence work from simple rock armour schemes to the construction of complicated new revetments and sea walls. Jennings have a proven track record of working collaboratively with customers and supply chain to develop innovative coastal engineering solutions and delivering them on time, within budget and to the required quality.
In 1990, Jennings were requested to undertake the emergency works required to stop the devastating flooding in Towyn, North Wales by Conwy County Council and British Rail. We utilised our own plant and transport fleet to import and place large volumes of rock and concrete to secure the breaches caused by inclement weather and high tides. Since then, we have been involved in numerous sea defence projects along the North Wales coast employed as either main contractor or supplying plant along with experienced operatives.
Our expertise and competitiveness has helped us secure a 3 year Term Contract for Conwy County Borough Council which involves structural repairs, rock armour, beach management and emergency response to 73km of coastline from Llanfairfechan in the West to Kinmel Bay in the East.
